A new coronavirus, designated 2019-nCoV which was first identified in Wuhan, China has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO). There are 71,000 cases confirmed worldwide with the death toll of more than 1700. Coronavirus influenza outbreak is extremely serious and fatal. There is no known cure as at now.

The Corona virus which has killed over 1700 people around the world has devastated China and the tourism and travel industry as a whole. Airlines have cancelled flights to China whilst cruise ships have been quarantined in an effort to contain the virus which is highly contagious.

China’s strength and resilience in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak is to be admired as they have done a great deal to contain the situation especially during a festive season ( the spread of the virus began during the Lunar festival).

The World Health Organization (WHO) will convene a global research and innovation forum with scientists from around the world to mobilize international action in response to the outbreak. This is because different nationalities have been affected by the virus.

We should all lend our support where we can. The world leaders should rally around China to combat the Virus.

On a positive note, February is the month of love therefore, take time out to spend time with your loved ones and appreciate them.
