Emirates Group in conjunction with the Dubai Health Authority is rolling-out a COVID-19 vaccination program for its UAE based workforce. The inoculation program will be carried out across all of its UAE offices.
The vaccination drive which began on 17th January is currently underway with priority being given to staff who work on the frontline such as cabin crew, airport ground-staff, flight crew and other operationally focused roles. The Dubai flag-carrier is among the first organizations in the world, to offer its workforce COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Covid-19 vaccines, both Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm which have been approved by the UAE authorities, will be accessible to all Emirates personnel working in the UAE. Inoculation appointments will run 12 hours a day, every single day to ensure as many people as possible receive the covid-19 vaccine. This will ensure that as many essential aviation workers as possible are vaccinated.

The news comes as the airline cuts services to Australia as a result of the huge toll the Covid-19 pandemic continues to take on the travel and tourism industry. The airline is suspending the majority of its Australia service for “operational reasons”. The airline will have its final flights into Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in the third week of January. Although, the twice-a-week flights from Dubai to Perth will remain in operation.

This is as a result of reduced permitted arrivals into the country due to a new strain of the COVID-19 virus in Brisbane. The reduced cap on international travelers entering Australia has been directed by the government. As of January 22, travelers will be required to show a negative COVID-19 test from no-more than the 72 hours prior to boarding.
